Editorial Reviews

The Leek provides pocket-perfect size and high-performance materials. It offers a distinctive design as well as SpeedSafe ambidextrous manually assisted opening. With SpeedSafe, the user can smoothly and easily deploy the blade with just one hand, either left or right. It comes with a secure locking liner and a removable/reversible pocket clip for tip-up or tip-down carry. The newest Leek, the dramatic composite-blade Leek, combines the durability and corrosion resistance of 14C28N stainless steel with the toughness and wear resistance of CPM-D2. The two steels are permanently fused together and the join is highlighted with an attractive copper accent. Designed to go anywhere and do just about anything, the made-in-the-USA Leek is the ideal carrying knife.

Great Knife

This is my first Kershaw knife so quality was unknown.

I was thoroughly impressed once I got it and enjoy it more and more.
I have had it for a couple months now and carry it constantly.

I generally don't like liner-locks because of the play.
This one has two tapered edges that lock together and eliminate any play, very nice design.

First thing I did was to reverse the pocket-clip so the knife is in opening position when pulled out.
I then got rid of the locking tab; I want to know the knife is ready to use when pulled out.
The knife is slim enough to carry even with work slacks on.
It has a plastic spacer between the handles to protect the blade when closed.
The handles themselves are durable enough to use as a bottle opener when needed without getting scratched up.

I never use the thumb-stud as the finger tab works so much better.
The edge holds up very well also and the composite blade is a nice touch.

Overall a very nice knife.

Very interesting blade design. Made in USA. The design rides high in the pocket if you prefer clip placement tip up.

Best Pocket Knives

I've been buying Ken Onion Leek knives for years now and this one is no disappointment. They are excellent knives and you can't beat the spring assisted opening. They come super super sharp and hold an edge for quite some time. You won't be disappointed.

Sharp as a razor when sharpened with the sharpmaker (spyderco). I wanted to reverse the clip but I could not get the tiny screws loose. I have learned to live with it. Still a good piece of steel at an affordable price.

Kershaw leek composite blade review

I bought the Kershaw composite blade Leek because i wanted a well built, dependable knife that would keep an edge for a long time, and with a simple, no thrill, no chills, assisted opening system. the Leek fits this description perfectly. The blade stays sharp for a very long time, and it only takes a few swipes with the sharpener to get it back up to snuff. the opening is truly fantastic, and it just gets better as you play with it and it gets broken in. the profile of the knife fits great in a pocket without getting in the way, and the reversible clip is nice depending on how you prefer to carry it. the thumb stud opening is difficult to use at first, when the knife is still new, but once it gets broken in it is a very nice feature. the thumb tang opener (or whatever they call it) is excellent as well. The "snap" from the opening is solid and sounds great to any knife lovers ears. Overall, a great little knife that i would (and have) recommended to many people
